Have a strong sense of community with an extensive range of knowledge, skills and expertise in early childhood, education and training, community development, business and corporation management, accounting and finance, strategic planning. Having a stable Board to steer SBICA has resulted in clear direction and strategy for the future.

Dale Chapman - Chairperson

I am Dale Chapman Yuwaalaraay and Kooma born in Dirranbandi in south west Queensland on Yuwaalaraay and Kooma tribal lands. I have lived on Gubbi Gubbi land, known as the Sunshine Coast, since 1976.
I am a businesswoman and founder of My Dilly Bag. The company is 21 years old now, and I bring my networking and expertise in business along with a 35 year career in hospitality.
I have been elected 2 years running as the chairperson of the organisation and work with a group of incredible , loyal and skilled team of directors and staff.
A big believer in community partnerships and my direction for this year is to make stronger and meaningful relationships across the state. Looking forward to a productive and creative 2022.

Zona - Company Secretary

Zona is a founding member and Director of Stepping Black and is passionate about reducing inequality across different sectors of society.

Zona has always been driven by a strong sense of social justice and has spent more than 30 years working alongside First Nations’ communities in the areas of education, community development and economic growth.

Zona is a mother of 8 children, a grandmother to 25 grandchildren and a great grandmother to one child. She is a proud Australian born woman with a multi-cultural heritage. Valuing diversity and building long term relationships are a feature of her inclusive attitude.

Clint Thompson
Community Partnerships Officer

Clint Thompson Goerang, Yuggera and Jiman, living in Bundaberg.

Have been with the Department of Education for 18 years, currently employed as a Community Partnerships Officer.

Presently I’m  undertaking a post graduate in Public Service Management with QUT.

Ben Griffin
Independent Director

Ben is a passionate advocate committed to amplifying the voices of people with lived experience to drive systems change and reduce inequality.

As the BOQ Group Customer Advocate, Ben and his team operate independently within the bank, ensuring that customers are not just heard but truly understood and treated fairly, especially those who may be experiencing vulnerability.

Ben is a regular contributor to community forums that support people experiencing vulnerability and actively volunteers within the crisis support and suicide prevention space.

Ben has held various senior leadership positions within the financial services industry, with a career focus on consumer advocacy and vulnerability.

Ben has also served as independent chairperson and non-executive director of a Queensland community housing organisation and is a passionate advocate for self-determination, systems equity, and strengths-based approaches to working with First Nations communities to achieve better outcomes in the areas of financial services, health, and education.

Tracey
Health and Wellbeing Advisor

Tracy is a Gamilaroi woman, Dietitian/Nutritionist, Beauty Therapist and founder of Wattleseed Nutrition, Health and Wellbeing. Wattleseed Nutrition is a 100% Aboriginal owned business based on Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi Country, Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Tracy is an accredited Wayapa® Wuurrk practitioner. Wayapa® is an earth connection practice that is based on ancient Indigenous wisdoms that focus on taking care of the Earth as the starting point for creating Earth, Mind, Body, Spirit well-being. Tracy is currently undertaking training as a Dadirri Lead Facilitator in Culturally Informed Trauma Integrated Care.

Tracy takes a personalised, holistic and culturally centred approach to foods, food systems and environments, meal patterns, eating habits, health and wellbeing. Tracy believes that knowledge is power, and that part of her role is to place that power in your hands so that you feel confident in contributing to positive change and self-determining individual, family, community and Mother Earth’s health and wellbeing. Tracy views health and wellbeing through a strengths-based, holistic and cultural lens, focussing on sustainable and healing connections, conversations and actions. She truly believes in the strength and healing power of understanding and sustaining our connections to traditional foods, lands, and cultural practices.

Tracy believes through two-way sharing of knowledge we foster understanding and grow stronger in self, mind, body, and spirit wellbeing.
