My name is Rebecca Ward, I am a Waka Waka descendent raised on Gooreng Gooreng Country.

I have previously worked in Early childhood education and the NDIS sector. My most recent work before joining the stepping black team was with the Central Queensland Language Centre as Lead Language worker.

I became passionate about my work within the aboriginal community and youth sector when I lost my grandmother, when she passed so much of my identity and culture also faded. I now pour my passion into helping others connect with their culture to keep it strong and alive in our generations to come.
